When we think of Valentines, we think of cards, flowers, and chocolates. I, and I’ll explain why, think of God, Adam and Eve, and me.
First, picture Adam in the garden naming all the animals. Remember, he was naked. Ha! That’s funny. (I don’t know about you. But, I wouldn’t want to be standing naked next to a tiger!) He looked at the cat and named him Garfield and named the lion Simba. Then, he looked at the hippo and tried to name him “Willy,” but God told him, “No.” (Six thousand years later stupid Hollywood gave a whale that name. And, I’ve been teased ever since!)
Anyways, as he stared at the hippo, he also looks over at the lion and the monkey, and noticed that every single one of them had a mate. He probably thought to himself, ‘Hold up! That aint fair! The hippo gots a wife and I don’t! And, it only gots two teeth and weighs thousands of pounds!’
So, I’m thinking he complained to God, and that’s when God said, “It is not good for man to be alone.” 1 And, so, They sang him a lullaby and put him to sleep. And, out of the man’s ribs, He made the woman. Now, I don’t know about you but the word “ribs” would’ve woke up! (Where’s the barbeque sauce!? “Baby back…baby back…baby back ribs!’ )
Now, I imagine Eve being one hot mamasita! The world’s tallest Barbie. If Adam was like 15 feet tall, I’m thinking she was like 14 feet. 2 Imagine her giant guitar shaped body. She had better legs and thighs than a KFC menu!
Then, God wakes up Adam and introduces him to Eve. Immediately, Adam says, “Whoooa, Man!” and that’s where we get the word “woman” from. But, have you ever thought why the Bible says that God put Adam in a deep sleep and not a nap? I think it was because God wanted to establish a relationship with Eve while Adam was sleeping, as well, like He had with Adam. God wanted to show her that her self-worth came from Him. He didn’t want any interruptions. That way, she knew she wasn’t only an object. She was God’s.
Financial gains, success, friends, even being healthy are only tools to fulfill your purpose in life. Even your dress code does not define you. God does. Period. God will love you, ALWAYS, even if you never accept Him. Because God IS love. 3 So, if someone breaks up with you, or breaks your heart, remember, that Jesus adores you. So, why not try to connect with Him today and give Him a heart. Not a chocolate covered candy one; but the one that beats inside you.
